Summer is on its way (Part 2, the SHORTS)

To accompany your favourite polo you need some quality shorts or 3/4 lengths. Taking a look through Bagga we found these G-Star shorts. To be honest with you, designer shorts are a fair wack, but these are a quality item;If £85 is a bit beyond the budget you have for shorts then we found this pair of Animal shorts
at 3SUMS for just £26.99, a very nice looking pair of dark shorts that would suit any holiday.

Summer is on its way (Part 1, the POLO)

Right, sun was out today down our way and it was pushing 15 degrees c so that means summer is almost here.

With that in mind just thought I'd start taking a look at summer kit, especially as Ibiza is calling in July and need to look plum for the dancefloor whilst keeping it light and airy.

There's not much you can do wrong with a classic Lacoste polo and USC have got a good line of 'em in at the mo, but are perhaps a little at the full price end of the online market (£60, pay that in any decent high streeter) whereas Brown Bag will do you a sporty zip similar to the pic above for about £52 (here)
They are timeless, but be sure to check out the links on the right for similar deals (would definitely recommend Lyle & Scott as another timeless alternative or stick with the simple yet just as effective Fred Perry or Original Penguin) and remember pastel colours, tight fit (if you can allow it) and don't come back with a farmer's tan.

That is one beautiful shoe. And how about these;

Avaible from CT on pre-order now with a football theme. Trimms just don't get any better!

Brand Alley

We've just cottoned on to Brand Alley

Thought we'd have a quick look see what it's about.

Basically, it's a site where you sign up for free membership and they let you know about amazing dsicounted deals they've got coming up. Because it's membership only they can get some great brands in there who aren't worried about losing out on exclsuivity. Think Tk Maxx but with less dross to sift through.

Ok, so may not be the height of fashion but why not have a look, fenchurch, Fred Perry and Fullcircle do some great deals on there and membership is free so not much of a gamble.

Not sure what we make of the 'let's all look like Barbour' trend but anyhow click here for £5 off your first order with Brown Bag and have a mooch at some of the other stuff they've just got in as well. Some quality new Boss denim in there as well, can't complain.

Shed Menswear

A good friend of ours here at ACR recently opened his own menswear store in Ashton-under-Lyne near Manchester. It's a big risk taking the plunge and aiming to provide great service for the demanding public so if you live nearby, why not pop your head in (and give us a mention!)

Lyle & Scott, J.Lindeberg, Lee, Penguin, Folk and many more available.
Shed, 65 Old Street, Ashton-under-Lyne

We're back

Hey all,

After a long hiatus we are back and we're gonna be better than ever!

Since we last posted there's been some big changes in the world of online fashion. Many of you will be aware of Mainline menswear who have got some great pieces. And if you don't know of them yet be sure to pop over and check them out.

A friend of ours also runs http://www.identity-menswear.com/ and they've got some quality K-Way and Saint James available so head on over!

Your local shop

Ok, so at ACR we quite like to shop around online, find the bargains and all that but in our opinion you cannot beat going down to your local menswear shop and having a good mooch.

So, being the easter weekend, I thought I'd have a quick pop into my local S.I Stockist yesterday and it hasn't changed a bit since I last went in their 4/5 months ago. Squeeky floorboards, dark, small, and line upon line of coloured jumpers packed in like sardines. I'd seen cheaper prices on much of the stock the day before on Bagga but I thought I'd try on some OneTrueSaxon stuff they had in, and I suppose this is where the street shop wins hands down, it's great to be able to try on the stuff before you spend your money.

It made me wonder, what is the optimum level of lighting, space, stock that would encourage us to go back in? Let us know your thoughts on your local shop/s by commenting here or sending us your thoughts via email aclothingreview@gmail.com

And if you fancy popping into Bagga if you're down Chislehurst way (Kent) they are number 14 on the high street, BR7 5AN.

Designer Trainers

Now all of us here at ACR don't usually stray too far from our fave Adidas trainers but if you're looking for something a bit different we stumbled across 'designertrainers' whilst searching for a nice pair of Armani's we'd seen in the town last night.

Now, the Armani's we were after were a little pricey, as was epxected, but they've currently got a sale on and we saw these Hugo Boss' trainers above at half-price, only £59.99. Absolute bargain and they look pretty good too.

We've managed to persuade them to give us a link, so here we are shouting about it, get on over there by following the link to the right. Nice store, easy to use and great prices as mentioned.

Cracking.

Armani - Spring/Summer

Hmmm, the jury is still definitely out once again on Armani's new spring/summer collection. Although a lot more understated than some of it's more outlandish previous summer outings, the big letters, shiny sticky on things and squiggly lines that don't compute mean that you either love it or hate it. But hey, that's what being a world renowned design house at the forefront of modern fashion is all about no? The 1981 theme has seen a comeback and looks pretty good, but it's the squiggly line 'AJ' symbol that really stands out for us (as above.) Prepare to suck your stomachs in lads, the Armani tight t-shirt summer is about to hit us again.

Bagga and Brown Bag Clothing are both doing some great deals on this stuff already, so be sure to check them out via the links to the right! The above photo being taken from the Brown Bag Range. RRP £58 BB price just £49!

Bagga Menswear - Michiko Koshino

Possibly one of our favourite Online Menswear retailers at the mo is Bagga Menswear. Selling our fave top end labels since 1994 we've always received quick service on quality items and although in our opinion, the website looks a little too simple and boring, you can get some great deals on there and it's easy to navigate around.

If your tastes stretch a bit further than the ubiqtuous Stone Islands and rather unflattering Aquascutum check then be sure to pop over to Bagga as they've just had their latest delivery of Michiko Koshino gear. Koshino's Jeans are always top quality and whilst taking a look through the collection earlier we stumbled across the hoodie above priced at £150 on Bagga which is one of the best deals on the web right now. A top notch garment that'll keep you warm up until the sun finally gets here.
Other brands featured on Bagga include One True Saxon, Tootal, Diesel Jeans and Armani. Not your usual Saturday Service wear (bout time you stood out though eh?)
